Dr. Giovanni Ventulini
The first step is telling me about you.
What is limiting you? What would you like to get back to, or improve?

Meet Giovanni
Dr. Giovanni Ventulini
Clinical kinesiologist · Fellow of Applied Functional Science
Giovanni applies exercise physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, and Applied Functional Science to help people get their movement back, build strength, and improve performance in life and in sport.
I will read your application personally and get back to you, so we can work out together whether my program fits your needs. If the conditions to work together are there, the next step is the initial assessment.

Frequently asked questions
What should I expect from the first meeting?
Time set aside for you, your story, and what you want to get back. The assessment takes about 90 minutes and includes a movement analysis. Simple movements, tied to real life and adapted to what you can do. I explain what comes out of it and we start exploring the first movement strategies. From there we build a path around your goals, your difficulties, and your life.
I’m afraid exercise will make the pain worse. What should I do?
It is a very common fear, especially when pain has been with you for a long time. That is why we start by looking for movements your body can manage, adapting the work to how you respond. Step by step, we work to find possibilities and confidence again. The first meeting is also for this: working out together where you can begin.
I have a medical condition, or an old problem that never fully went away. Can you help me regain mobility and address the pain?
An old problem or a medical condition may have made you give up many things. We start from your story to understand which possibilities we can develop today. In my three years working in a center dedicated to movement recovery, I worked alongside people with very different needs and difficulties. When necessary, I talk with the healthcare professionals who follow you, so the work fits your situation.
I have already tried other approaches, or gyms. Why would this time be different?
I understand the question, especially if you have already invested time and energy without finding what you were looking for. My starting point is how your whole body moves as a system. I look at the relationships between its parts and build the work on your movements, your responses, and the activities that matter to you. The goal is to develop capacities you can take with you into everyday life.
Is this suitable if I am no longer young, or have trouble with balance?
Yes, we can build the work on what you can do. A progression of simple, targeted movements can be devoted to balance, stability, strength, and coordination. What matters is helping you feel safer in daily activities and keep your independence over time.
Can it improve my daily life, beyond training?
That is exactly the point. Getting up from a chair, walking, carrying the groceries, playing with your children or grandchildren, traveling, and giving time to what you love. The work starts from these movements too, so that what we develop together is useful when you go back to your life.
Do I need to be fit already, or an athlete, to start?
No. You can start even if you have been inactive for a long time, have never trained, or are returning to movement after getting hurt. The path progresses with you, from where you are today. Bring the willingness to get involved. We work on the rest together.
I’m out of shape or overweight. Will I feel out of place?
Not at all. Here you can feel welcome, even if starting again makes you uncomfortable. We work one-to-one, with my attention and guidance in every session. You have room to ask questions, learn, and get comfortable with your body. Your starting point deserves respect.
How long before I notice the first changes?
You may notice something different in the first few meetings: a freer movement, a sense of more control, or more trust in your body. Timing depends on your situation and on what you want to achieve. Lasting change is built with continuity: my guidance, our commitment, and work that progresses along with you.
Should I talk to my doctor before starting?
We can talk about it when we first get in touch. If you live with a medical condition, have had surgery, or are under medical supervision, it is important to know the guidance of the professionals who follow you. When needed, we work in collaboration: sharing information helps us follow your path properly.
What people ask me before they write.
Where do you work?
In the studio in Padua, or at your home, in the city or across the province, within about 25 km (15 miles): the Assessment and the work adapt to the place you live. If you live farther out, write anyway and we’ll talk about it.
Who is it not for?
Anyone looking for a quick fix, anyone who wants a sheet of exercises and nothing else, and anyone who has no intention of working between one session and the next. Without the daily practice, the direction doesn’t hold.
Are you a doctor?
No. I work on movement. If you need a doctor, I’ll say so and point you to one. And I’m glad to work alongside whoever is already following you.
